Right in the town centre, a 70's tower block but that doesn't matter from the inside and it's close to shops and pubs and with good facilities.

On the sea front, next closest but nothing else to recomend it!

Travelodge Ayr
Brand new at the A77 roundabout. About 1 mile from the Racecourse. This is the opposite direction from the town centre so there's not much else near it except car showrooms.

Two victorian houses converted to a hotel about 10 minutes walk to the north of the town centre. Only 8 rooms and I know we've got 2 at least. From £23-£30 pppn including breakfast.
